April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month!

Visit the Prevention Month Update section for more information

SCAN would like to welcome our new staff members:

  • Jennifer Shadik, Parent Facilitator for Court Ordered Group
  • Angela Verdery, Children’s Program Coordinator

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and for SCAN it is our busiest time of the year. The focus of this year’s April Campaign is Abused Children Feel Invisible. We hope to bring more awareness to the issue of child abuse and neglect and the children who are the victims of abuse and neglect. Look for the SCAN insert in Style Magazine at the end of March for a calendar of our activities. Check back here March 15 for additional details about our 2004 campaign.

  • There are several ways you can help during National Child Abuse Prevention Month:
  • Distribute blue ribbons to your office, civic group or faith community.
  • Invite a SCAN representative to speak at your office, civic group or faith community.
  • Volunteer at a SCAN Special Event.
