Precious

"Precious" is the story of Claireece Precious Jones, who is 16 years old and growing up in 1980s Harlem. Precious, as she is called, feels as if she's all alone in a world that has brought to her nothing but pain, abuse, heartache and two children both conceived by her own father. Precious never let her circumstances sway her dreams of a better life and she realizes that opportunity when she enters an alternative school. Here, Precious finds her hope, drives her determination and learns how to love.

Abes for Babes

Never underestimate what a simple gesture can do. It is the little things that you do that can make a big difference in other people’s lives. -Catherine Pulsifer

SCAN is looking to the local community to hold a penny drive between October 1st and ending on February 12th, Abraham Lincoln’s Birthday. The penny drive is a celebration of Abraham Lincoln’s commitment to "malice toward none" and "charity for all" and is one small gesture that you can make to help Stop Child Abuse in our community.

A penny can make a huge difference in helping SCAN reach its goal of preventing and treating child abuse and neglect. With the help from the community we can collect many small pennies that will make one enormous difference in the lives of local children.

To find out more information and how to get involved contact Bethany Leighton at bleighton@grscan.com or by calling 804 257 7226.
