David Yurman and Schwarzschild Jewelers invite you to attend a benefit for Greater Richmond SCAN

12th Annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta

Join us on May 3rd, 2008 on Brown's Island for the annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta. This event will take place from noon - 7pm and will feature Joan Jett, Evans Blue, Red, and National Product. Vist the Cinco de Mayo website for information.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

Join Greater Richmond SCAN and our Pinwheels for Prevention campaign. Pinwheels, which represent the hope and promise associated with childhood, are the new symbol for child abuse prevention and the efforts being made to help all children grow up in a safe, healthy and nurturing environment.
SCAN invites you to "plant" a pinwheel garden as a visible show of support for keeping children in our community safe. Pinwheels are available for $1 each; to request your Pinwheels for Prevention, contact Karen Coppola at 257-7226 or kcoppola@grscan.com.



3rd Annual Book Fair & Festival

Shops at Willow Lawn

Donate gently used music CDs and books at The Shops at Willow Lawn now through May 15 and receive a “swap” receipt that can be redeemed for new or used CDs and books at the Rock & Read Music & Book Festival on May 17 . No encyclopedias please. Bring donated items to the Customer Service Desk located inside the mall next to Old Navy.

2008 Townes Tee Off Classic

Townes Site Engineering is hosting the Annual Tee Off Classic to benefit SCAN on May 22, 2008 at The Country Club at the Highlands in Chesterfield, VA.

Participation is available at several levels:

  • Co-Host: $3,500.00 includes company name logo on all correspondence, banners, program listings, etc. Also includes up to two foursomes in the tournament, hole sponsor, cart, refreshments and lunch
  • Awards/Lunch: $2,000.00 includes company name in program, banner and one (1) foursome. One (1) sponsor needed or up to three (3) at $1,000 each.
  • Beverage Cart: $1,500.00 includes company signage on cart, banner, program listing and one (1) foursome. Your company can provide volunteers for the cart. Two (2) sponsors needed
  • Gold Sponsorship: $1,250.00 includes company name on cart, banner, program listing, one hole sponsor and one (1) foursome.
  • Silver Sponsorship: $1,000.00 includes hole sponsor, one foursome, putting contest sponsor, name as sponsor on putting contest-company can provide volunteers to work contest- banner and program listing.
  • Team Sponsorship: $450.00 includes one foursome, cart, refreshments and lunch. Limited to the first thirty (30) teams.
  • Hole/Green Sponsorship: $300.00 includes signage and program listing.
  • General Donations Each donation regardless of the size or quantity is greatly appreciated. Monetary Donations, Bag Stuffers, Door Prizes, Snacks, Beverages. We appreciate each and every donation.

June Swoon 2008

Join us for the Annual June Swoon to benefit Greater Richmond SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now). June Swoon is an event in celebration of Marcy Handshaw and her compassionate work on behalf of SCAN. So help us swoon to the rockin’ sounds of Butter and enjoy an evening of fun, food, and friends. The event will take place on June 7, 2008 from 7:30pm till midnight at Richmond Country Club. 2008 SCAN Progressive Dinner and Auction

Thank you for making this years Progressive Dinner a success! The event began with cocktails and appetizers at a private home. Guests were then transported to one of 26 private homes in and around Windsor Farms where they enjoyed the main course. The evening ended at the Tuckahoe Woman's Club where guests enjoyed dessert, live music, dancing and a live auction.
